Lu

Lu is a Taiwanese film director based in London. Lu’s work embodies unique and striking visuals drawing inspiration from Taiwanese and British culture.

She started directing fashion films and innovative content for brands such as Chanel, Condé Nast, Estée Lauder after she completed her Master’s Degree in Photography and Electronic Art at Goldsmith University of London.

Lu has directed high-concept and beautifully choreographed videos, connecting powerful women performances to strong art direction. She’s collaborated with artists such as Mabel, Majestic and RIKA. Her music video for London based Gloria has been featured on Nowness Picks. 

In 2017, her experimental short Fern, won the Best Sound Award at the New York City Independent Film Festival and it was one of the finalists at Chicago’s Blow-Up Arthouse Film Festival. More recently, her short documentary The Filial Daughter was nominated and an official selection of the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival 2020.

Having directed films for brands such as i-D, Adidas, Nike, Dyson and Audible, Lu’s work has been featured on platforms such as NOWNESS, Hunger TV, The FADER and Wonderland.
